NIGHT AND LIMITED VISIBILITY DIVING SPECIALTY COURSE

When you go Night Diving you will see a whole new world. Even your favorite dive site will take on a new personality. Many different underwater creatures will be out that were not there on your day dive. In the Night and Limited Visibility Specialty Course you will learn the necessary skills and techniques to safety Night Dive and dive in Limited Visibility conditions.
Course Overview:
The Night and Limited Visibility Specialty Course is a two-part course, consisting of a academic classroom session and open water dive session. Each session will cover the following topics:
The academic classroom session:
--The causes and effects of limited visibility
--Limited visibility at night vs. day
--Night underwater activities
--Lights and special dive equipment
--Importance of proper navigation skills
--Night underwater communications
--Emergency and lost buddy procedures
Open Water dive session:
--Dive planning procedures and organization
--Lights and special dive equipment
--Navigation skills and procedures
Course prerequisites:
--Certified open water scuba diver from any WRSTC Agency
--Certified open water junior diver from any WRSTC Agency
How long is the Course?
--One 3 hour academic class
--Two open water dives
What does the course include?
--Text books and all other instructional materials
--Video tape or DVD (additional cost)
--Use of a variety types of underwater lights
What do I need to provide?
--Good quality underwater lights
--Scuba diving equipment, exposure suit, and two full scuba tanks
(Scuba equipment is available for rent from Stave's Scuba Center)
